“Brown Sugar” singer D’Angelo hasn’t been seen or heard much here in the states. The last time I heard about him was a couple of years ago when his mugshot was in the news. Well fortunately his fans will be happy to know he has resurfaced recently for a concert in Zenith Paris. His looks may have changed a bit, but he still sounds good.
Because I can’t wait to see “BFV” tonight, I went looking for more sneak peaks and found an interview with two of the most animated Braxton girls. How come I’m just finding out Trina and Gabe are legally separated? Check out Tamar’s facial expressions while Trina is talking. You can tell she want to say something crazy to her like, Girl, your husband is a wanksta, you better get-yo-life.com!
Beyoncé has officially become a class act. Rutgers University now offers scholars an education in “Politicizing Beyoncé” under the Women and Gender Studies. Lecturer Kevin Allred created the course after four semesters teaching Women’s Studies 101, during which he and his students often discussed the thin line Beyoncé walks as a sex kitten-girl-power-role model.
Allred pairs Beyoncé’s music videos and lyrics with readings from the Black feminist canon, including the writings of bell hooks, Alice Walker, and even abolitionist Sojourner Truth.
