A year ago today we lost one of the greatest female vocalist the world has known, Ms. Whitney Houston. I still find it hard to believe she is gone until I see the sorrow on her only child Bobby Krissy’s face. I hope and pray she will pull through it and live in peace as her mother rests in peace.
Whitney Houston is honored by Madame Tussaud’s officials as they unveil four new wax figures of the legendary singer. Reportedly this is the first time in 200 years that the museum bosses have created so many figures of the same person at once.
The waxworks were created in London, but they will be displayed at museums in separate cities, according to insiders, and they were unveiled in New York on Thursday.
February 11th will mark the anniversary of the legendary singer Whitney Houston’s death. Her mother Cissy Houston talked to Oprah Winfrey to set the record straight about her daughter. One of the questions Oprah asked was if it was Bobby Brown who turned Whitney on to drugs.
While I’ve always heard she was doing drugs before she met Bobby, I never knew it was her brother Michael that introduced her to drugs. This should be an interesting show, will you be watching Monday?
I thought I knew all things MJ until I watched Spike Lee’s Michael Jackson Bad25 documentary last night. It was wonderfully entertaining with exclusive footage and interviews from the people who took part of making the “Bad” record and short films. I’m forgetful, but not usually when it comes to MJ, so it was news to me that Whitney Houston was supposed to duet with Michael Jackson on “I Just Can’t Stop Loving You” but didn’t because her record label thought she’d be overexposed. I can only imagine how amazing that would’ve been.
After watching this documentary, Michael’s friendship with Liza Minnelli now makes so much sense to me. Little did I realize how influential her parents were to his artistry. A while ago I posted the similarity between his 1995 “Dangerous” MTV performance with a Judy Garland performance. It turns out her husband, Vincent Minnelli’s inspired him as well. In the documentary they show how MJ’s “Smooth Criminal” paid homage to the movie Bandwagon’s “Girl Hunt” segment directed by Vincent Minnelli. Check it out.
Spike Lee did such a great job on this documentary, I’m going to have to add it to my collection.
