The artist known as Prince has a great sense of humor. His new cover art for his new single “Breakfast Can Wait” is a picture of Dave Chappelle dressed as him from a skit on the “Dave Chappelle Show”. Prince released a snippet along with the image on his 3rdEyeGirl Youtube page. This man is a pure genius!
His royal badness was in the House! All Prince had to do was step foot on the stage and bless the public with his presence and speaking voice to steal the show. Just look at that face. LAWWWWWD thank you!
They had it all…Bruno Mars and Sting killed it along with Rihanna, Damien and Ziggy Marley as they paid tribute to Bob Marley. I loved hearing them together making beautiful music.
If you read my blog, you must know by now that I am a huge fan of the band Gentlemen Hall. Their song “Sail Into The Sun” was featured in three Target commercials during the Grammy’s commercial break.
I was screaming and jumping for joy when I heard the first note of the tune. I was so shocked and excited. I usually avoid commercials but not this time(x3). These guys deserve the world to hear and fall in love with their infectious tunes. Please go to Gentlemenhall.com or I tunes and download some of their music. Click this SailIntoTheSun Link.
Vanity aka Denise Matthews, the hottest of all Prince’s proteges (in my opinion) proved how much a pretty face could be a distraction. She was so beautiful it distracted some people from realizing she wasn’t a strong vocalist. As a kid, I didn’t even notice she was wearing undergarments on stage. The concept of “Vanity 6” was sex of course, the trio that included Brenda Bennett and Susan Moonsie, represented hookers. Allegedly Prince initially wanted Denise Matthews to use Vagina as a stage name but they eventually compromised and came up with Vanity.
What’s funny to me is that their hookers concept required the trio to be styled in panties and lingerie. The same boudoir attire is worn by several modern female singers as regular performance garments. Unfortunately I’ve witnessed women wearing such attire to the night clubs.

“Drive Me Wild” wasn’t a popular “Vanity6” single so you may not recognize it. But if you’ve watched the movie “Purple Rain” as much as I have you can hear the beat mixed in with Prince’s opening performance of “Lets Go Crazy”.
