I think most of his videos feature a bed.
Dave Hester, star of A&E’s reality series Storage Wars, and singer Trey Songz have settled the lawsuit over who gets to say “YUUUP!”. Last November, Hester sued Trey and sought a court order that would bar the singer from “interfering” with his use of “YUUUP!”
Both Hester and Songz each argued that the exclamation was a signature catchphrase. Songz claimed to have used it first, but Hester had attempted to register “YUUUP!” at the trademark office on three occasions while Songz hadn’t.
On Friday, Hester and Songz told a New York federal judge that they had settled the dispute. The parties didn’t share the details of the agreement.
Trey surprised me with the concept of this video for his song “Yo Side of The Bed” . It is not at all what I’d imagined. Although he is in bed as usual, for parts of the video, the story displays more than that. This scenario happens to be touching in a way that I didn’t expect.
Jay-Z received two nominations in the video of the year category, which includes newcomers B.o.B and Melanie Fiona.
Jay-Z is the top contender with five nominations; he’s also up for best male hip-hop artist. Beyoncé, Fiona and Alicia Keys, who follow with four nods each, are all up for best R&B female artist.
R&B crooner Trey Songz also received four nominations. Other multiple nominees include Rihanna, Maxwell, Drake and Fabolous.
Queen Latifah will host the awards show, which airs live on June 27 from the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles.
I’m confused on how BET can nominate someone who hasn’t had a new cd since 2008. Somebody please explain.
